1984 Final Assignment

In the book 1984, the doctrine that O'Brien proclaims to Winston is a major key to maintaining the system of government of called oligarchical collectivism, and to Winston's fate at the end of the book. What O'Brien say basically covers the government, and all of the characters, and actions in the book. O'Brien speaks about how their form of reality deals with what everything that the collective group, Big Brother and the party, see and not in nature or science. This seems to mean that since Winston is the last man last reality is distorted to him because he doesn't see what the party sees, and cause he doesn't believe in the parties control of reality. By enforcing this type of mind on the people they all begin to fall back, and let the party control them. Anyone who dares to think differently, or really thought at all became an unperson. Just like Syme. By being to smart for his own good the party took him turning him into an unperson. I believe this is because he was talking about changing words, and there language. By saying this he was talking about how he was changing reality, and society by removing words from their language. By keeping people oblivious to nearly everything they control society and reality. If no one knew who created planes who is to say that Big Brother didn't create them. They can control what people know and change facts, and history at will. Just as the war changes in the book, history, and reality change constantly at Big Brothers will. The only people that could protest to this was the few people like Winston. The last men, and women left to defend their incorrect reality. The knew that Big Brother printed lies, and they saw how the war changed. But it didn't matter because in their world they were outnumbered by the party. There reality became true since everyone swallowed the lies since they controlled reality. Final, when Winston was tortured into sanity there views were gone. Only the parties reality exsisted. So this is how O'Brien's views are correct.

Since Winston was one of the view people left that saw their own version of reality he was dooed from thew start. The only way he could show his form of reality is through his conversations with Julia, who didn't seem to care much about the parties lies, and through the writing in his journal. Since Winston believed in his own reality he had to be eliminated. With even one person believing in a different form of reality the parties views couldn't completely exsist. They needed to warp there minds to make their reality the only one. With no one to object it would become true. So Winston had to be changed and die to keep the party alive, and to keep their views the one, only, and true views.
