My Second Rather Late Post for Hamlet
In the play Hamlet Shakespeare includes a play inside this play, which Hamlet uses to his advantage to find out whether or not his uncle killed Old Hamlet. I feel that this was a fantastic idea from Hamlet to include this into the play because it is something that he knew really well. Not only is a good plot device, but it also give Shakespeare a chance to poke fun at his own line of work. There is one scene in Hamlet that shows this very well. He describes to the actors how to deliver the extra scene which he wrote for the play. He warns them not to wave there arms around in the air too much, or deliver the line by over.under acting. He was trying to make it as realistic as possible so he could see his uncle's reaction to the play. I feel that this was interesting because it is very likely that Shakespeare told the actor's of his plays the same thing when they rehearsed his plays. Though this we could see alittle into the life of Shakepseare. So thats why I think that this is an important plot device in the story.
